6. Give any two examples of how individual choices and behaviours can contribute in achieving sustainable development.

Medha Ma’am
Ask Medha’s AI teacher
Model answer · individual role, sustainable development
- 1.Individual choices and behaviours can contribute in achieving sustainable development. One example is saving energy by switching off lights and fans when not in use, as this reduces unnecessary consumption of resources. We can also become responsible by reusing paper, glass, plastic and water, and by taking cloth bags to the market instead of using plastic bags.1 mark
- 2.Another example of how individual choices and behaviours can contribute in achieving sustainable development is planting more trees to replace the ones that we have cut, since cutting of trees leads to soil erosion and makes land dry and unusable for cultivation. We can also use energy efficient lights (LED bulbs) and appliances and promote the use of solar power to meet our electricity needs without polluting the environment.1 mark
- Write one clear example for each point, such as switching off lights/fans or using cloth bags for the first, and planting trees or using LED bulbs/solar power for the second.
- Use the exact phrase 'sustainable development' and mention 'individual choices and behaviours' to directly answer in the question's own terms.
- Do not repeat the same example in both paragraphs; keep each example distinct.

Model answer · misconceptions about entrepreneurship
- 1.One misconception about entrepreneurship is that entrepreneurs are born, not made. This means people think entrepreneurship is only an innate trait that a person has by birth and cannot be learned. In reality, a person can learn and practice the actions needed to become an entrepreneur.1 mark
- 2.Another misconception about entrepreneurship is that a person needs a lot of money to start a business. The money used to start a business is called capital. People believe a large amount of capital is required, but in reality, every business does not need a lot of capital to start.1 mark
- Write 'entrepreneurs are born, not made' as the exact misconception for point 1.
- Mention the word 'capital' and link it to 'a lot of money' for point 2.
- Keep each misconception in its own separate paragraph, one per point.
