1. Who is a Consumer?
Okay, so let's start with a simple question.

Summary
Okay, so let's look back at everything we covered. A consumer, remember, is anyone who buys or uses goods and services. And consumers are the most important part of the market system — because production depends on them. We saw how consumers get exploited, too. Through adulteration, wrong measurement, lower quality goods, high price, and duplicate goods. Then there was Anil's story. It showed us how a consumer can get relief and compensation, just by complaining. We also learned about the Consumer Protection Act 1986. It gives consumers six rights — protection, information, choice, to be heard, redressal, and consumer education. After that, we looked at the three-tier judicial system. District Forum, State Commission, and National Commission — each one handles complaints depending on how much money is involved. And finally, we learned about the National and State Human Rights Commissions and Information Bureaus. Along with the Right to Information, which helps a consumer get information within 30 days — or 48 hours, in special cases. So, tell me — out of all these rights, which one do you think matters most to you?
